Freeman USA didn't follow a trend — we started one. More than thirteen years ago, we pioneered the concealed and display wall safe industry, introducing a category that has since been widely imitated but never matched. Long before imitators entered the market, we were engineering, refining, and perfecting the all-steel security display cabinet from our shop in Tennessee.
Built on a Foundation of High-Security Craftsmanship
Our roots run deep in security. For years before our current product line, Freeman USA constructed high-security walk-in safes for demanding clients — work that required uncompromising standards in materials, engineering, and execution. When we sold that division, we brought every lesson learned into a new vision: a better way to display and protect the things collectors value most.
The concept was straightforward — the old-fashioned wood-and-glass gun cabinet was overdue for reinvention. Collectors of modern firearms deserved a modern solution. From that conviction, our guiding principle was born: modern cabinets for modern weapons.
Innovation at Every Turn
Building the category from scratch meant solving problems no one had solved before. Early on, we tested steel pegboard, then slatwall, to mount firearms inside our cabinets. Neither delivered the function or the refined aesthetic our clients expected. Foam was never considered — it simply couldn't provide the secure fit, modular flexibility, or clean lines that fine weaponry deserves.
The breakthrough came in an unlikely moment. The concept for our now-proprietary patent-pending magnetic gun mounting system arrived over breakfast — inspired, of all things, by magnetic alphabet letters on a refrigerator door. From that spark, our engineering team developed the powerful, precision-fit magnetic mounts and solid-steel cabinet plates that have become a hallmark of every Freeman USA security cabinet.
In 2015, we introduced remote-controlled motorized locking — allowing owners to open their cabinets from up to 150 feet away, with the drama and ease that a premium collection deserves. We also recognized early that standard tempered glass — regardless of grade — would never meet our security threshold. That is why every Freeman USA cabinet features Lexan polycarbonate, the same material used in NASCAR windshields and bank-grade bulletproof barriers, secured to the cabinet face with welded studs rather than adhesive or clips.

Freeman USA also pioneered what goes inside a display wall safe.
